I had been looking to renovate my den and hallway closets for some time. Having recently retired, I had the time to explore what options were out there. I take great pride in the appearance of my condominium, that is, a clean, modern, warm look. In today's world, high level craftsmanship I thought, was a rare commodity. To my surprise and after much research, I found Vertical Grain Projects. In all honesty, I knew nothing about millwork except that there were a number of companies willing to do the work. A reputation involving honesty, integrity, and competency mean everything to me. It became quickly apparent after meeting with the company owner Doug, and soon after his project manager Nick, both of whom came to my home, that this local company was perfect for the job. WOW, the finished projects exceeded my design expectations; but additionally, I was impressed with the individuals involved in the installation process. At every point from start to finish, I was guided by professionals that know what they are doing. What a relief! I can finally enjoy both spaces knowing I made the smart choice.

His team of workers were pleasant and knowledgeable at making the repairs blend with existing construction. They completed their tasks in a timely fashion. Vertical Grain did some work for us creating a beautiful murphy bed, as well as some custom storage/closets in our bedroom and office. We are over the moon with the work that was done. Doug and his team took on extensive repairs to my house caused by water damage that had remained hidden for many years.The amount of damage was only revealed as work progressed and was more extensive than at first thought. Throughout the whole process their commitment and quality of work remained high. The foreman on the job kept me informed on all progress and the workmen left the site clean at the end of each day. They were competent and courteous and made what could have been a very trying experience into something positive.

Working with Vertical Grain was a complete pleasure. From discussing project expectations to executing the final project, there was zero disappointments. Minor issues were dealt with quickly and very professionally, Trades left the place spotless at the end of the job too. Quality of work was 10+ and dealing with both Doug and Caroline was great.

More importantly, my wife was happy and the dog had some free day-care (they are good at looking after pets). Excellent quality work, completed on schedule (despite bad winter weather). Careful attention to detail in all carpentry work. I would certainly recommend them for residential renovations.
